In contrast to "mathematics teachers," those people who teach mathematics to students, the term "mathematics educators" is sometimes used to describe those who specialize in the teaching and research of mathematics education. Most mathematics educators serve as faculty or instructors in colleges and universities, usually in colleges and schools of education or in mathematics department that house mathematics education faculty.
