Frank Lester

Frank Lester is an Emeritus Chancellor's Professor of Education in the School of Education at the University of Indiana. Lester received his Ph.D. at The Ohio State University in 1972 (Richard Shumway, advisor). He was the editor for the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education from 1991 to 1996, an NCTM board member from 1999-2002, and was the editor of the Second Handbook of Research on Mathematics Teaching and Learning, published in 2007. Lester was given NCTM's lifetime achievement award in 2008.

Lester retired in 2008 but remains active in the mathematics education community.
